If anything untoward happens to Geelani, Govt is responsible: Hurriyat (G)

Srinagar: Chairman Hurriyat Conference (G) Syed Ali Geelani despite being unwell continued to remain under the house detention and the authorities have increased the deployment of the forces and vigil.

In a statement, issued today spokesman, Hurriyat (G) Ayaz akber said, Syed Ali Geelani after returned from Delhi on 6th April, authorities immediately cordoned off his office cum residence and placed without number white painted police truck at the central gate deliberately, so that to deceive people and other watch dogs across the globe which is highly condemnable.

Hurriyat (G) spokesman Ayaz Akbar said that the main reason of the ill health of Syed Ali Geelani is his continuous house detention which is taking heavy toll on his health and the same thing has expressed by senior doctors as well.

Meanwhile, despite severe restrictions and curfew people held demonstration after the Friday congregational prayers against the Handwara Massacre across the Kashmir valley and demanded impartial inquiry must be in place by independent agency so that the culprits will get severe punishment

Those who led the demonstrations including Bashir Qureshi, Ab Hameed Magrey, Mohd Shafi Reshi and others from Hyderpora Jamia Masjid and from Srinagar huge demonstrations led by Umer Adil Dar, Mudasir Nadvi and Rameez Raja which later arrested by police.

Hurriyat (G) spokesman, Ayaz Akber termed house arrests and putting hundreds of activists and leaders behind the bars prior to the demonstration and protest call is a state terrorism and frustration of PDP led government and by this authorities want to stop people from raising their voice against innocent killings and vandalization.

Those Leaders who have been continuously under detention among is Mohammad Ashraf Sehrai, Shabir Ahmed Shah, Mohammad Yaseen Malik, Nayeem Ahmed Khan, Raja Mehraj Din, Mohammad Ashraf Laya, Mohammad Yousuf Falahi, Syed Mohammad Andrabi, Fayaz Ahmed, Ashiq Hussain, Mohammad Yousuf Mir, Mohammad Ramzan Khan, Yaseen Atai and Imtiyaz Hider, he said.
