Hurriyat,JKLF call for strike today

SRINAGAR: Hurriyat (m) chairperson Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, Hurriyat (g) chairperson Syed Ali Geelani, Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) chief Yasin Malik and have called for a shutdown today against the killing of two youths in army firing in Handwara.

Two youths were killed after army opened fire on locals protesting against a “molestation bid” on a girl allegedly by army men in Handwara area of Kupwara district.

The pro-freedom leaders have called for a state-wide shutdown against the killings.

Meanwhile a spokesperson of Hurriyat (g), quoting Geelani, termed it “state terrorism at peak”.
