Army bowls out budding cricketer

Share

He could have been another Parvez Rasool from Jammu and Kashmir. He had all that talent to make it to the Indian Premier League, if not to the international cricket. But he has been silenced one for all; courtesy the bullets of Indian army.

Nayeem Qadir Bhat, a budding cricketer was killed in Handwara town today when soldiers of Indian Army fired upon him during a protest demonstration.

“He was selected for All India level coaching camp for cricket in three years ago,” his friends said.

Bhat, a student of Government Degree College Handwara, had recently shown extra-ordinary performance in under-19 state level cricket competition.
