CM visits GMC, meets Doda accident injured

JAMMU:  Chief Minister, Mehbooba Mufti, today afternoon visited Government Medical College (GMC) Hospital here to enquire about the health of those persons who were seriously injured in yesterday’s tragic bus accident, near Dhara, in Doda district.

Six persons were killed and over 30 injured, out of which 10 seriously injured were shifted to Jammu late last night. 

Deputy Chief Minister, Dr. Nirmal Kumar Singh, Minister for Health & Medical Education, Bali Baghat and Minister of State for H&ME, H&UDD and Social Welfare, Asiea Naqash accompanied the Chief Minister.

Mehbooba Mufti interacted with the 10 seriously-injured patients undergoing treatment in the hospital and distributed cash assistance among them.

She was also briefed by a team of doctors, led by Principal, GMC, Dr. Zahid Gillani, about the treatment being extended to the persons undergoing treatment. She directed Dr. Gillani to extend best-possible treatment to those injured in the accident and shift one patient who may require specialized treatment.

Secretary, H&ME, Dr. M. K. Bhandari was also present on the occasion.
