Srinagar: AIP spokesman has strongly condemned the government for not allowing Er Rasheed to visit Kapran for the second consecutive day to offer his condolence to the family of Abdul Gani Nakioo, who was allegedly killed during raid by the army.
However the party deputation led by Adv. Mujeeb reached Kapran and expressed solidarity with the family and the villagers. The local elders accused army of creating fear among masses and demanded that FIR lodged by police should be made public as army is pressurising police not to reveal truth in the FIR.
Er Rasheed later in the afternoon visited the family of Maqsood Ahmad Shah of Thandipora Kupwara who was allegedly killed by miscreants in a temple and later on his body was thrown on the road side.
Speaking on the occasion Er Rasheed said, It is not the first incident that a Kashmiri has beaten to death in that area of Punjab as on the 7th January 2016, 12-year-old Irshad Ahmad of Waisa Kupwara was stabbed to death by the miscreants in the same area. Punjab police despite knowing everything is showing least interest in nabbing the culprits, as for the security agencies and the ultra-nationals blood of Kashmiris seems to be thinner than then water.
Er Rasheed accused Punjab police of providing false information to J&K police over the murder of Maqsood and asked let those claiming to be devotees of Hindu region answer how can they justify brutal murder of human inside a temple? Er Rasheed asked state government to show some mercy on Kashmiris and at least insure that they should not be butchered in the streets of Punjab and elsewhere. (PTK)
Kashmiri businessman murdered in Punjab laid to rest amid protest
Srinagar: People from frontier district Kupwara staged a massive protest on Monday against the murder of a Kashmiri youth in northern Indian state Punjab.
Maqsood Ahmad Shah (27) son of Muhammad Dilawer was found dead at village Parjian Kalan in jurisdiction of Mehatpur police station of Jalandhar district in Punjab on Saturday. The slain had gone missing on April 2.
Eyewitnesses told CNS that as soon as the body of the slain youth reached his native village Thandipora, hundreds of people from Kralpora and its adjacent areas took the body in a procession and amid pro-freedom slogans demanded stringent punishment to the killers.
He is survived by three little children. He was in Punjab from past six months and was doing shawl business there. Little did we know, he will meet such a fate, Zaman Ahmed Shah, the younger brother of the slain youth told CNS. He said that shortly after his brother went missing, they had rushed to Punjab and even had filed a missing report in local police station.
This is not the first incident when any Kashmiri has been murdered outside state. In past such incidents also occurred but the culprits were never apprehended and booked. We demand the immediate arrest of the killers, the wailing locals said.
When contacted, a police official from Mehatpur police station said that they have already registered a case vide FIR number 48 under section 302, 201 of Indian Penal Code and investigation is going on to ascertain the facts. We have constituted a special police team and hopefully this blind murder case will be cracked, he said. (CNS)
