World of My Dreams

Share

The whole world is in chaos and confusion. Terrorism and destructive weapons are the only things that our leaders talk about these days. I don’t think that the Almighty had created this world for these things. Whosoever stops to ponder over the happenings of the world will surely shed endless tears, even if that person is the most heartless person alive. The essence of ‘Being Human’ has been lost. We have made this world into a place not for living but a place where people defeat each other by hook or by crook. We have lost the identity of Homo sapiens. Humanity is moving blindly towards a dead-end street. Terror strikes and pompous talks between the leaders of the world made me think hard about this world and compelled me to dream of a world of my own.

“Vasudhavia Kutumbakum” (whole world is a family) and ‘Kashmiriyat’ were the first words that came to my mind and these form the basis of my dream world. Wouldn’t it be great to consider the whole world as a family and all the human beings as its members? I have heard about ‘Kashmiriyat’ but never got a chance to experience the same. It is not fair that, being a Kashmiri, I can’t taste ‘Kashmiriyat’. We should have been the ambassadors of ‘Kashmiriyat’. But it is unfortunate that we don’t even know its power. It can liberate our society from the chains of suppression and oppression.

I have a dream that one day human beings will no longer be divided by titles of rich and poor because poverty is the worst enemy and a silent killer of humanity. All people irrespective of their race, colour, language, religion or gender have equal stake in life. Equality is the most important thing in my dream world. I think that improving the dignity of individuals brings happiness.

The worst experience that a person faces is when he or she is neither counted among the living or the dead. Presently, the whole humanity has been forced into oblivion. Selfish motivations threaten our prosperity even today. We deem young people to be the hope of humanity holding the promise for the future but drugs enslave them. Advanced countries seem to believe that material goods are all that matter. They recognize only their own interests while ignoring the misery of thousands who die of starvation every day. The lust for money has dragged the human population to a level from where recovery is painful. “Life is a race” best describes this lust for more and more wealth, but my dream world has no money or currency at all. All people discharge their duties for free. It gives no one an edge over the other. In other words, all people have equal wealth.

Borders don’t exist in my dream world. It is an open world where everyone can move freely without any hesitation or the need of any passports or visas. Friends, the real kind, are the most important thing in my dream world because I think sometimes merely meeting one’s friends acts as the best therapy. Given our busy schedules, we do not befriend many people. Even if we do befriend someone, they have something to do with our race. I can feel the trauma that a person faces when he has no friends to talk to, given that I could befriend only two people till now. Life really becomes boring for friendless people. We even forget to smile with all our heart. I even suspect that the much hyped Lol, hehehe, hahaha will replace our real smiles in the future.

True love is the spirit of public service and is free from corruption. True love gives, forgets that it has given and continues to give without ceasing. We can find it in the joyful and loving heart of a mother who cradles her baby in her arms and nurses him or her. True love is sacrifice. It has the power to dissipate the barriers greedy human beings have created, including national boundaries and the barriers of race and religion. Citizens of my dream world share this true love.

It is true that we cannot build a utopian society on this earth but there is always room for perfection. You, me and all the positive thinking people have a duty to defend this world from sinking and restore peace and tranquility. I am sure if all the good people use their energy in the right direction, no one will ever think of committing suicide and the world will surely be a peaceful place to live in.
