3–day Fisheries training programme held at Ganderbal

GANDERBAL: Faculty of Fisheries, Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences & Technology (SKUAST), Kashmir organized  3-day training programme on ‘Processing and value addition of fish’ in district Ganderbal sponsored by National Fisheries Development Board (NFDB).

The training programme was inaugurated by Dean Faculty of Fisheries Dr. M. H. Balkhi. Programme Coordinator Dr. Rizwana Malik, briefed the participants about the importance of the programme. During the training programme experts delevered lectures on the theme to demonstrate food processing and value addition.

Vice-Chancellor, SKUAST-K, Prof. Nazeer Ahmed, attended the programme as Chief Guest while as  Showkat Aijaz, Deputy Commissioner, Ganderbal participated as Guest of honour.

Prof. Nazeer Ahmed appreciated the efforts of the organizers for conducting such training programmes which are pivotal for uplifting the fishermen community.

Speaking in the occasion, Mr. Showkat Aijaz highlighted the need and importance of these training programmes for fishers to improve their livelihood. Among others Tehsildar Ganderbal, Staff members, and Students from same institution were present on occasion.
