Srinagar: While the plains as well as higher reaches continue to receive rainfall from last couple of days, the weather is likely to improve from Tuesday morning.
An official in the Meteorological Department (MeT) told KNS that they are expecting gradual improvement in weather from Tuesday morning while there will be decline in precipitation as well.
He said that the weather will remain cloudy throughout the day while there will be occasionally sunshine as well. Meanwhile, the intermittent rains from last three days have submerged the city areas thereby leaving inhabitants to lurch at large.
According to locals, with the accumulation of muddy water in their areas, they are facing immense hardships. However, Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC) are paying no heed to their sufferings.
The city residential areas including Baba Demb, Samundar Bagh, Khanyar, interior Rainwari areas, Batamaloo and others are inundated with rain water and are facing hardships due it.
The residents appealed SMC commissioner to look into the matter and redress their grievances soon. According to the Divisional Administration, Kashmir, an avalanche warning exists for avalanche prone areas above 3500 meters altitude of Ganderbal and Kargil districts from 04 April to 5 April, 2016.
People of these areas have been advised not to venture in the avalanche prone areas. (KNS)
