Maternity hospital taken to task for throwing garbage in open

Srinagar: While conducting inspection of a Maternity Hospital Lal Daed here at Wazir Bagh, Commissioner Srinagar Municipal Corporation Bashir Ahmad Khan Monday issued on spot instructions to the hospital authorities to refrain from throwing garbage in an open in its backyard.

Chief Sanitation Officer Manzoor Ahmad Tarray was directed to launch two day extensive sanitation drive after finding hospital premises in ill sanitary conditions.

Meanwhile the Commissioner also reviewed the Enforcement vigilance over roadside, footpath encroachments and in this regard passed on directions to the concerned to prosecute the violators before court of law so that the defaulters has to approach the court for the release of their confiscated  consignment on spot.

He was informed that a strict vigilance is being kept over the roadside encroachment which is followed by daily inspections particularly at Lal Chowk, Jahangir Chowk,Karan Nagar, Soura, Hari Singh High Street.
