Srinagar : PDP leader and MLA, Rafiabad, Yawar Dilawar Mir has asked the party workers to help people in redressing their grievances and strengthen hands of party president Mehbooba Mufti.
He has asked the workers to increase party membership in their respective areas to ensure better implementation of the policies and programmes of the PDP.
Speaking to a delegation of PDP workers, Yawar said that close rapport with common masses was imperative to strengthen the party as also to fructify the vision of late Mufti Mohammad Sayeed about a peaceful, prosperous and developed state. He said, After the sad demise of Mufti Sahib, our responsibilities have increased manifolds to strengthen the party and the hands of Party president Mehbooba Mufti by working unitedly.
He said We shall have to be prepared to sacrifice our personal interests for the sake of the party and public interests at large. He asked the workers to be watchdogs in their respective areas to monitor implementation of the developmental programmes and various social welfare schemes.
Reiterating that interests of people were supreme to PDP, Yawar said no body would be allowed to play with their dignity and honour. He said history is testimony that NC has always bartered with sentiments of the people to satiate its power lust. Even today NC is trying to hoodwinked people by raising frivolous propaganda against PDP to create misunderstanding, not knowing that the people of the state are wise enough to differentiate between their friend and foes, Yawar said adding that the workers should remain be vigilant to foil all machinations of the opposition.
Asserting that Mehbooba has proved to be an able administrator and statesman, Yawar evinced hope that the state would touch new heights of growth, progress and development under her dynamic leadership.
