Meritorious Kupwara students felicitated

 

Srinagar: In a first of its kind the meritorious students of class 12th and 10th of district Kupwara were felicitated Saturday by Joint Effort Trust (JET)  at Environment Hall Handwara.

The function was attended by educationists, students, journalists, prominent citizens, scholars and people hailing from different walks of life. Divisional Commissioner Kashmir Dr Asgar Samoon, Director Education Shah Faisal, Deputy Commissioner Kupwara Rajiv Ranjan, ADC Kupwara Hafeez Masoodi and top officers of district administration were present on the occasion. Faizan Mushtaq of BHSS Kupwara who had topped the 12th class exams in district Kupwara was awarded with a cash amount of Rs. 1 lac. Zubair Ahmad Malla of Maryam Memorial School Pandithpora Langate was awarded an amount of Rs 0.40 lac for securing first position in Langate Constituency in class 10th.

Umer Farooq and Rukaya Rajab shared an award of Rs. 0.30 lac for securing second position and Adil Kumar got an award of Rs 0.20 lac for the securing third position. Similarly Tasleema Hasan, Shahid Rashid, Faisal Farooq and Junaid Mushtaq were also awarded their excellent performance with certificates and cash awards. Speaking on the occasion Dr Asgar Samoon and Shah Faisal hailed the efforts of Joint Effort Trust for working day and night to provide better education to the children in Kupwara and assured Er Rasheed who is the patron of the trust of support at all levels from their side. Speaking on the occasion Er Rasheed said that while politicians seek votes for Sadak, Paani and Bijli, they forget that education is something for which any nation cannot wait, therefore I have decided to give priority to education and do whatsoever possible to bring revolutionary results in the education sector in my constituency. Er Rasheed said. “Whenever I need to go to people to seek votes I wish people should vote me for my performance and contribution in education sector. I find myself duty bound to request my people to use their full energy and resources in the field of education and don’t politicise the education, so that we can compete in the all times.”
