New Delhi: BJP general secretary Ram Madhav confirmed on Friday that a consensus has emerged between Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) over government formation in Jammu and Kashmir.

Speaking to news agency ANI, Madhav said, “Consensus has emerged between the two parties (PDP-BJP) after Mehbooba Mufti ji & Nirmal Singh ji spoke yesterday.”

“Very soon the details for formation of Govt (J&K) will be worked out. I’m hopeful that swearing in will happen in next 2-3 days,” Madhav added.

With this, the suspense over when the PDP-BJP alliance will take office has finally ended.

Jammu and Kashmir was put under Governor’s Rule on January 8, a day after then chief minister Mufti Muhammad Sayeed passed away in New Delhi.
