Sopore boy develops ‘Flood Alarm System’ ‘

Srinagar :Teenager Sheikh Saqlain,  a class XI student of Army Goodwill School Sopore, impressed one and all by securing the top position in a district level Science exhibition organised by the District Institute of Education and Training, Sopore where more than 300 students from over 100 schools participated.

Covering Mazbug, Sopore on the banks of Jhelum River, the budding scientist, in choosing his project, also demonstrated his keen sense of social responsibility and awareness about the local needs.

He has made very relevant Flood Alarm System which has the facility of warning at three different danger levels of water in a flood situation.

At the third level, the emergency exit opens up automatically and excess water is flushed out to a different container thereby maintaining the safety level. (PTK)
