Arrest of trio on charges of stone-pelting

Srinagar:  Family members from three youth arrested by police during nocturnal raids in South Kashmir’s Kulgam district Thursday alleged that police want to frame them in ‘fabricated’ cases while the fact is that the arrested youth are students and not stone-pelters.

Police arrested three youth during nocturnal raids in Qaimouh Khudwani area of Kulgam. Police that identified the arrested youth as Shakir Ahmed Itoo, Feroz Ahmed Itoo and Mudasir Ahmed Itoo said that they have been arrested for the role in stone-pelting incidents, a charge refuted by the family members who claim that all the youth are students and have nothing to do with stone-pelting.

The family members appealed Director General of Police to look into the matter and ensure the release of these students. (CNS)
