Week-long Plantation Drive begins at South Campus

Anantnag: Kashmir University’s South Campus at Anantnag in collaboration with the varsity’s Directorate of National Service Scheme (NSS), Landscape Division, and Rahim Greens launched a week-long plantation drive here.

District Development Commissioner Anantnag, Muneer-ul-Islam inaugurated the drive and planted conifer saplings on the occasion.

Coordinator NSS Prof. Neelofar Khan, Director South Campus Prof B A Nehvi, members of NSS, teaching and non-teaching staff of South Campus, noted poet and social activist Zareef Ahmad Zareef and Abdul Hamid, CEO Rahim Greens, were also present on the occasion.

Later, students from South Campus, and two schools of Anantnag, Hanfia Higher Secondary School and Al-Sarwat Educational Institute also participated in the drive

In his speech, Muneer-ul-Islam highlighted the importance of plantation and urged upon students to develop the habit of planting trees while Dr Bashir A Nehvi stressed on conservation of natural resources and the rich flora and fauna of Jammu and Kashmir.
