Militant hideout busted in Doda

JAMMU:  Security forces Wednesday busted a militant hideout and recovered a cache of arms and ammunition in Jammu and Kashmir’s Doda district.

Acting on specific information, troops of 10 Rashtriya Rifles and police launched a joint operation in the Koti Nullah of Basti forest area, 11-km from Doda town, police said.

“We busted the terrorist hideout from a natural cave and recovered three firearms and ammunition,” Doda Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Zahid Naseem Manhas said.

The recoveries included one 303 rifle with magazine, a single barrel gun, a Chinese pistol with magazine and its six rounds, 57 AK-47 rounds, a radio set and a mobile phone without battery, he said.
