Let India and Pakistan retain held regions: Dr Farooq

National Conference (NC) patron Dr Farooq Abdullah on Tuesday reiterated that India and Pakistan should hold their parts of divided Kashmir.

“My solution to the problem (Kashmir dispute) is that both the countries should hold their parts,” Abdullah said while addressing workers at a party convention in Srinagar.

He said New Delhi and Islamabad should actively work towards opening additional trade and travel routes along the Line of Control.

“I want this road to be opened as soon as possible. You and I would have visited Muzaffarabad and relished a cup of tea. They would have relished wazwan here,” said Farooq while demanding the opening of all roads between the two parts.

“We (people or both the regions) would have wailed over our miseries together,” he added, amid a hearty laugh from the audience.
