Srinagar: State Police organized a Debate Competition on a topic titled Environmental Degradation v/s Developmental Needs under Civic Action Programme (CAP) at Auditorium Hall Kargil.
In the competition 06 students from different schools participated in which three participants were in favour and three were against the topic.
In a first of its kind event, on the pattern of a panel discussion, the participants expressed their arguments which were suitably countered by the other participants in presence of 02 moderators Nasir Shabani Assistant Professor GDC Kargil and Ejaz Munshi freelance Journalist.
Mehtab Fatima of Jaffaria Academy of Modern Education Kargil emerged as the winner and Mr. Gulzar of Suru Valley Public School as the runner-up who were presented with Trophies, certificates and cash prizes.
SP Kargil Rahul Malik who was the Chief Guest of the event emphasized the need of developmental activities and during the activities due care should be taken of environmental preservation and conservation.
Others present on the occasion included Principal of Govt. Degree College, ASP Kargil, Chief Education Officer Kargil, Principal BHSS Kargil, Principal GHSS Kargil, Educationists, teachers, students of various Schools and Government Degree College Kargil. The organizing Secretary, Ishtiyaq Ahmad Kacho DySP IR 8th Bn presented the vote of thanks. (PTK)
