Srinagar: CBI giving up the case of Mehran Lateef Mir who went missing on 13 May 2008, under mysterious circumstances, after coming back from school, is shocking news to his parents as well as the society at large. Since his disappearance, quite a few kids have disappeared under suspicious circumstances and this worrying crime is only growing day by day. Very recently, a similar tragedy resurfaced, after nine years, with the sudden disappearance of a four year old boy in Dooru, Anantanag.
A four year old boy, Ayaan Hamid Shah, resident of Shahabad Dooru, Anantnag had gone to Pehroo Village in Anantnag and went missing on 22ndMarch, 2016 at around 12:30 pm in broad daylight. The kid was visiting arelatives house at Paibug, KP road, Anantnag along with his mother.
As per sources, the distraught mother of the kid while looking for him, kept saying that she was with him just now.
He was playing in the compound and suddenly went towards the gate. I heard him calling out to me (mummyyeyay (oh Mother) to which I answered that I was coming. On reaching the gate, I couldnt find him there. I looked for him nearby but couldnt find him. I thought he might have sneaked inside the house but he wasnt there either. I called everyone around asking if they had seen him, but nobody had. We looked for him everywhere but he is nowhere to be found. We have no clue where he went. I am tormented. I just want my baby back, said Ayaans mother sobbing.
Five days have passed since his disappearance and still the kid is untraceable. Even though a reward of Rs. 1 lakh has been announced for tracing the kid, no clues have been found yet. I will give away all my wealth if I have to, for tracing my son. He is just four years and I dont know where he might be this time and who might have taken him. I am not even able to think about this ugly episode, said Abdul Hamid Shah, the father of the kid.
This is the second time that such an incident has taken place in a month. Earlier a girl child of Seer Hamdan went missing under suspicious circumstances, now Ayaans disappearance has come as a horrible shock. Though an FIR has been registered and investigation has been taken up by the law enforcement agencies of Kashmir, only time will tell if this going to be another Mehran case, where the investigations would be closed after nine years or a swift investigation will reunite a small child with his parents.
