Rajendra tours Ladakh, addresses meetings, durbars, inspects thanas, interacts with public

LEH: Expressing satisfaction over the security, law and order scenario of Ladakh region and crediting the people for maintaining peace and order in the border region, Director General of Police (DGP), Mr. K. Rajendra Kumar hailed the great contribution of the people in maintaining peace in border region. Rajendra is on three day visit of Ladakh region, where he chaired various meetings of police officers at DPL Leh and other tehsils headquarters.     

Addressing the meetings, Mr. Rajendra stressed upon the officers for innovative changes and methods to bring more efficiency in the functioning of the force and investigation system. He said that professional policing at grass root level would be revamped to enhance proficiency of officers and cops.

The meetings deliberated on various issues relating to enhancing professional capabilities of jawans and officers in the organization.  Officers present in the meetings briefed the DGP about overall law & order and security scenario of their respective areas. He asked for enhancing professional capabilities of cops through various advanced trainings adding PHQ has chalked out an ambitious plan for conducting various advanced training courses for jawans and officers in all the training institutions. He said that training develops personality and builds character, helping to instill a sense of duty and people friendly attitude. He said we are focussing to enhance the professional skills in police training institutions so that the department could excel further on professional front.

During his tour, the DGP addressed various police darbars at various police establishments. He said better deliverance and maintaining good relations with the people in their jurisdictions in key to success.

Mr. Rajendra inaugurated new police station building at Choglamsar Leh with residential accommodation for the staff. He said department is keen to provide better living and working facilities for the personnel and for this purpose under modernization programme several residential quarters and office buildings were constructed and commissioned. 

Besides, various welfare schemes are presently in force for the personnel and their families and in order to make them aware about these schemes, PHQ has prepared a booklet containing the list of schemes and circulated the same for the personnel working in the field.

At Leh and Nobra, various public deputations called on the DGP and he listened them and discussed various issues pertaining to the functioning of police in their areas. People hailed the functioning of the JKP and maintaining close rapport with the public.   

During the tour DGP inspected various police stations, police posts including police station Turtuk in Nobra and Chhushul in Nyoma and some border police posts of advance areas. He interacted with the cops and listened to them. They put some suggestions to enhance the  facilities at the police station level. 

The DGP was accompanied by IGP (Kashmir Zone), SJM Gillani, SP Leh, T Gyalpo, SP Kargil, Rahul Malik, Additional SP Kargil,  Jameel Ahmed, Deputy Superintendents of Police, Zahoor Ahmed Peer, Tashi Phuntsog, Abdul Khaliq and Mohammad Aslam Mir and other police officers.
