SRINAGAR: District Development Commissioner, Srinagar Dr. Farooq Ahmad Lone Thursday stressed the need to increase awareness about Tuberculosis (TB) among the masses especially youth to eradicate the disease from the valley. He was speaking at a function organized at the District Tuberculosis Centre, Srinagar (Directorate of Health Services Kashmir) in collaboration with Auxiliary Nursing and Medical Training school to commemorate World TB Day which is observed across the world today.
He informed that the free medical services regarding the disease are provided at all government hospitals.Earlier, the DDC flagged off Unite to End TB rally which started from Government College of Nursing and Paramedical Sciences, Shireen Bagh and culminated at Karan Nagar.
Around 400 participants attended the rally which was organized by District Tuberculosis Center, Srinagar (Directorate of Health Services Kashmir).
The function was also attended by Chief Medical Officer, District Tuberculosis officer, and other health officers.
