Bandipora records 20909 qtls fish production

 BANDIPORA: The Department of Fisheries Bandipora today organized an awareness camp at Shok-Baba Bandipora during which the fishermen were sensitized about fish management besides welfare schemes being implemented by Fisheries and Labour Department.

The camp was attended by Assistant Director Fisheries Bandipora, experts, bankers and fishermen.

It was given out that fish production in the district has been recorded as 20909 quintals this fiscal so far while as all the 2050 registered fishermen have been covered under insurance scheme.

 As many as 52 units of trout and carp fish including 49 under private sector and

 3 departmental units are presently functioning in the district. The unit holders under private sector have earned revenue of about Rs. 5 lakh by way of producing 21.75 quintals of fish during last 11 months.
