BHADERWAH: Two day Training Programme on Fish Culture organised by the department of fisheries at Trout Fish Farm, Gatha in Block Bhaderwah and Village, Bharthi (SAGY) Bhalessa, under ATMA, Sub-Mission on Agriculture Extension (SAME) concluded today.
About 100 progressive fish farmers from various villages including Seri, Udrana, Dhrudu, Bheja, Gatha, Kursari, Dranga Bharthi, Bhallessa attended the programme.
During the programme, fish farmers were apprised regarding various developmental schemes of the Department for the welfare of fish farmers. They were also made aware regarding latest techniques on fish farming and technical demonstration regarding various water parameters like Dissolved Oxygen, Free Carbon dioxide, PH value etc.
Farmers were also educated to assess water quality so as to ascertain the suitability of water for Fish Culture.
During the programme farmers also highlighted various problems being faced by them regarding timely availability of fish seed, proper feeding pattern, commonly encountered diseases etc in fish Culture.
Detailed deliberations were held regarding the importance of various steps involved in fish culture i.e. liming, manuring, seed stocking, regular feeding, regular netting etc. Moreover, marketing aspects of the fish farmers for ready stock was also discussed and the farmers were informed that the officials of the fisheries Department will act as facilitators in the process of marketing of their stock as and when required.
