Governor visits Super Speciality Hospital, Kakryal

JAMMU: Governor N.N. Vohra, who is Chairman of the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board, visited the Rs 300 crore 230 bedded Super Speciality Hospital which has been established by the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board at Kakryal.

The Governor held on-spot discussions with Mr. H. L. Maini, Member and Technical Advisor, SMVDSB; Mr. Rohit Kansal, Commissioner PW (R&B) Department; Mr. Ajeet Kumar Sahu, Chief Executive Officer, SMVDSB; Dr. (Brig.) Man Mohan Harjai, Chief Administrative Officer, Superspeciality Hospital; Dr. S.P Singh, Chief Executive Officer, Super Speciality Hospital; Mrs. Sushma Chauhan, Deputy Commissioner Reasi; and Dr. Piyush Singla, Dr. M. K. Kumar and Mr. B. Mohandaas, Additional CEOs, SMVDSB.

The Governor went round the Hospital and, thereafter, assessed the preparedness for the Nursing College being set up by the Shrine Board adjacent to the Super Speciality Hospital. The admission of the first batch of students to the Nursing College is scheduled to take place in July this year.

The Governor was briefed by Dr. Singh, CEO of the Hospital, about the latest position in regard to the purchase of medical equipment and medical furniture. The Governor emphasised the importance of ensuring effective maintenance of the state-of-the-art computerised diagnostic and treatment equipments.     The Governor was informed about the floor-wise status of various diagnostic and treatment facilities being set up in this 230 bedded hospital which shall have more than 20 different streams of medicine and surgery, including cardiology, cardio-thoracic surgery, neurology, neuro-surgery, nephrology, urology, oncology, pulmonology, bone-marrow transplant, gastroenterology, orthopaedics, trauma-medicine, paediatrics and neonatology, obstetrics and gynaecology.

The Governor also reviewed the estate development of the campus, particularly the landscaping and greening of the entire area, and construction of internal roads and other required facilities as per a well prepared plan.

The Governor went round the hospital and visited the OPD, Observation Room, General Ward, Dialysis Unit, Private and Semi Private Wards and interacted with doctors and staff of the Hospital.

The Spokesman of the Shrine Board stated that the Governor has requested the Prime Minister of India to inaugurate the Super Speciality Hospital in April this year.
