Srinagar: A demolition squad member was seriously injured when miscreants pelted stones on LAWDA demolition squad whey they tried to dismantle illegal structures in Green Belt area of Srinagar City.
According to a LAWDA official, a house on government land was demolished in Meerakshah colony Habak while a wooden shed and tin fence were also razed to ground near Zabarwan Park and Foreshore Road Srinagar.
The miscreants in these areas resorted to stone-pelting in which a demolition squad member Ghulam Rasool Wagay was injured, he said and added that driver against encroachers will continue unabated.
The official said that that two FIRs were lodged against tipper drivers in police stations Nishat and Nigeen for ferrying illegal construction material in violation of the Honorable High Court.
People should desist from resorting to illegal constructions and encroachments, otherwise they will personally be responsible for the loss of their property, he cautioned.
