Share

Tangmarg: Leave aside raising of model schools and setting up Smart Classes, a Primary School in Qazipora Tangmarg area of district Baramulla is being run in unsafe building and sans basic facilities.

Established in 1979, the school building has developed widen an open cracks. Unconcerned about the safety of 56 students and teaching staff members, the State School Education authorities continued to run this school in the same building.

The parents of the students Monday forced school head to shutdown the school. “The school building is unsafe and it can collapse anytime that may result in the loss of life,” Headmaster Muhammad Saleem told CNS adding that the walls have developed cracks and floor has broken at many places. Students even do not have jute mats for sitting.

He said that despite assurances of authorities, school building was neither renovated nor dismantled. “Now we are mulling to shift the school to nearby Panchayat Ghar,” he said.
