Baramulla: Despite the fact authorities have been spending huge sums of money to make all possible information available on the internet, the website of the District administration Baramulla has not been updated from last 18 months.
The information available on the Baramulla.nic.in website is mostly outdated, inaccurate and can be a case of willful distortion by officials. Though in District Officers section, Yasha Mudgal is shown as Deputy Commissioner Baramulla, but in another section titled Telephone Directory the incumbent Deputy Commissioner Farooq Ahmed Lone is still DC Baramulla for the website operators. Majority of the district officers shown in the website have either been retired or transferred from the district few years back.
In fact, there is an absolute lack of discipline in this matter. Every government department will have a nodal officer who is supposed to update regularly. A typical babu mentality prevails among the managers concerned of these websites, an IT expert told CNS.
