Two persons missing from Pulwama

Pulwama: Two persons from South Kashmir’s Pulwama district have gone missing while police have apprehensions they might have joined militant ranks.

Police sources informed CNS that a government employee who had been interrogated by National Investigation Agency (NIA) with regard to Udhampur attack is missing from February 19 last month. “Tanvir Ahmed Sofi son of Ghulam Ahmed a resident of Kakapora who works in Fishery Department and presently was posted at Dachigam Srinagar is untraceable. His family members have lodged a missing report in police station Kakapora. There is every possibility that he might have joined militant ranks,” said a top police official.

He added that an Engineering student Ovais Ahmed Malik son of Muhammad Maqbool a resident of Hakhripora Pulwama has also gone missing from March 4. “A missing report stands registered in Police Station Pulwama. We are investigating the matter, however despite putting all the efforts, the missing youth is untraceable,” he said. (CNS)
