ANANTNAG: The District Information Office, Anantnag Wednesday, organized a Mehfil e Mushaira at Town Hall Anantnag, in which renowned poets of South Kashmir presented their couplets and enthralled the audience.
Deputy Commissioner Anantnag, Mr. Muneer ul Islam was the Chief guest on the occasion while Ghulam Nabi Aatash was guest of honour.
The renowned poets who presented their latest poetry include Zahid Mukhtar, Qasim Sajad, Maqbool Veeray, Sonullah Mir, Irfan Sajad, Raja Yousuf, Bashir Indrabi, Bashir Asrar, Javaid Sagar, Nasir Naseer, Ghulam Rasool Irfan, Javaid Anjum, Hussain Azizi, Nadir Ahsan and Ghulam Muhammad Aashti.
The District Information Officer, Shakoor Ahmad in his address said that the aim of organizing such kind of programmes is to provide a platform for young and budding poets of the district so that they can showcase their talent.
