Tral shuts to mourn death of militants

Tral: Tral, Awantipora and adjacent areas of both the towns Friday observed a complete shutdown to mourn the death of 3 local militants, Ashiq Ahmed Bhat, Muhammad Ishaq Parrey and Muhammad Asif killed in an encounter with Forces in Dadsara Tral area on Thursday.

Shops and business establishments remained closed while traffic remained off the roads. Hundreds of people from Dadsara, Aaligund, Chandrigam, Goshbug, and other areas gathered at the slain militant’s native villages and expressed sympathies with the bereaved families.

Scores of separatist leaders also visited Laribal, Dadsara and Charsoo to pay tributes to slain militants. A protest march was taken out from Jamia Masjid Dadsara in which thousands of people participated. Amid pro-freedom slogans the march culminated at martyr’s grave yard where people offered special prayers for the militants. (CNS)
