DC Baramulla reviews process for fixation of stamp duty

BARAMULLA: To discuss the fixation of stamp duty for the financial year 2016-17 for district Baramulla, a meeting of the Revenue officers was today held here under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Baramulla, Yasha Mudgal.

The meeting was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner, Bashir Ahmad Khan, Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Sub-Divisional Magistrates and Tehsildars of the District.

The meeting discussed the fixation of stamp duty for different types of land as per the existing guidelines. It was given out that while calculating the stamp duty, the nature and type of land, viz., Irrigated, Un-irrigated, Residential and Commercial will be kept in view. Moreover, proximity to the road or inner areas would also be taken into account.

It was given out that the specific formula for the purpose of calculation of stamp duty will be applied to calculate the stamp duty and the report so prepared will be sent for final fixation.

Meanwhile, Deputy Commissioner, impressed upon the Officers to take in consideration all aspects while fixing the rates so that real value of the property is assessed.
