Shopping Complex gutted in fire

Srinagar: Goods worth lakhs and revenue records were destroyed after the upper storey of a shopping complex gutted completely in a devastating fire in Gund area of Kangan tehsil in Central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district.

Police officials told CNS that the fire broke in ‘Akhone Shopping Complex’ on Monday night and it damaged the upper storey of the complex completely. “The Complex housing various shops and Revenue Office was gutted resulting in the destruction of goods and revenue records,” said an official adding that fire was brought under control with the help of locals and firemen.

Police said the cause of fire was not immediately known. “A case has been registered and investigation has been taken up,” he said. (CNS)
