Hizb clarifies about arrested youth

Srinagar: Militant outfit Hizbul Mujhadeen Tuesday clarified that nine youth from South Kashmir who have been labeled by local police as Hizb workers are not affiliated with the militant organization.

Hizb spokesperson Salim Hashmi in a statement to CNS said that the outfit want to make it clear that nine youth arrested by police and SOG are ‘innocent’ and do not belong to the Hizbul Mujhadeen.

“Zakir Ahmed Bhat, Sajad Ahmed Malla, Zubair Ahmed Malla, Bilal Ahmed Parra, Zahoor Ahmed Bhat, Farooq Ahmed Thokar, Ashiq Ahmed Bhat, Altaf Ahmed Bhat and Mudasir Ahmed Bhat are all innocent. They have been physically tortured by police and one fails to understand what security agencies and Modi government will get from such tactics,” Hashmi said and appealed international human rights groups to take note of these random arrests of Kashmiri youth.

“It is not surprising that these youth are dubbed as Hizb militants when India has charged JNU students union president for sedition and even have labeled Umar Khalid as LeT militant who is a ‘disbeliever,’ Hizb said.

Pertinently, police recently claimed that it busted a Hizb module in South Kashmir’s Shopian district and arrested at least 9 youth from the different parts of the district. (CNS)
