Delay in flood relief Traders observed shutdown

Share

Srinagar: Traders from Shaheed Ganj market in Srinagar city Tuesday observed shutdown against the district administration for “failing” to provide them flood relief on time.

The shopkeepers were joined by scores of residents visited DC office Srinagar to take up the matter with higher officials. They alleged that administration has been forcing them to complete lengthy formalities. “Those who grease the palms of the officials easily get their cases cleared while we are asked to wait. Our flood relief cases are lying with the officials who are resorting to dilly dally tactics,” some of the shopkeepers from the area told CNS.

“The government has only done lip service after announcing the relief package. We have been waiting for the last more than a year and we are yet to get the anything. The government should provide complete relief to us now. We don’t want to wait any more,” they said. (CNS)
