ANANTNAG: To review the implementation of NFSA, the Deputy Commissioner Anantnag, Mr. Muneer ul Islam today convened a meeting with officers and stakeholders at meeting hall Dak Bunglow.
On the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner said that NFSA implementation will not only benefit the economically backward population of the district but will also keep a check on pilferage of subsidy to counterfeit ration card holders.
The Deputy Commissioner said that all the information about the NFSA is available on public domain so there remains no scope for misappropriations at any level. He further said genuine demands from people have been already taken up with higher authorities.
He directed the concerned officials to prepare error-free and category-wise ration lists by implementing all the recommendations of the ACT within 10 days time.
He said 12 Tehsil level Grievance redressal cells, headed by respective Tehsildars have been already set up which will recommend necessary action into the matters pertaining to ration distribution, rectification, addition and deletion, if any, in the e-ration tickets and ration lists, so that ration lists are corrected before 20th of March.
AD CAPD informed the meeting that about 27178 (55%) quintals of food grains has been already distributed among the consumers in the district under NFSA and rest 21796 quintals will be distributed in the coming days.
Regarding the linking of Aadhaar with the Ration Cards, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Mr Ghulam Hassan Sheikh said that that almost 90% population of the district is Aadhaar registered and linking of Aadhaar with the ration distribution cards will be taken up in the month of March so that e-tickets are generated in a hassle free manner and direct benefit transfer to the genuine consumer is achieved.
