Tour, travel operators discuss JK tourism at Vivinta, Indigo Fam tour

SRINAGAR: Taj group and Indigo airlines organized a Familiarization Tour to Srinagar of potential tour operators and travel agents from Chennai market. The group stayed at Vivanta by Taj Dalview Srinagar for two nights three days 28 Feb to 01 March 2016 during which they conducted tour of the city and covered major tourist attraction like Mughal garden’s , Royal Springs Golf course , Dallakeand etc. Group also visited the famous old city to experience the culture and heritage of Kashmir, visit to Shah Hamdan ,Jamia Masjid and Hazratbal shrine was a major attraction for them .  

During a gala night at Vivanta by Taj Dalview Srinagar on 29 Feb 2016 FAM Group interacted with some of the top tour operators/ travel agents for hotel from Kashmir valley who assured full support to the Chennai based agents for promoting the tourism to valley.

On this occasion the Director Tourism Kashmir Mr. Mehmood Ahmed Shah spoke on the tourism potential and the plans ahead to market Kashmir in all regions and take leisure , MICE and adventure tourism to newer heights. 

Speaking about the growth of tourism from southern region Ms. Sonika Jain, Associate Vice President- Sales, South India of Taj Group of Hotels, Resorts and Palaces expressed that with help of the tour operators, Indigo airlines and Taj group a lot of new opportunities can be created for boosting the tourism revenues for all stakeholders.

Ms. Sonika Jain also recommended a joint promotion for a road show in Bangalore and Chennai for J&K Tourism.

The General Manager of Vivanta by Taj Dalview Srinagar Naveen Tomar appreciated the efforts of tour operators from Chennai and Kashmir valley for showing enthusiasm and resolute to promote tourism in valley round the year.

Director of Sales at Vivanta by Taj Dalview Srinagar, Basharat Rashid informed that these FAM tours are part of the marketing efforts made to promote tourism to Kashmir valley and create a strong channel support system to make sure that tourists find it most dependable destination in all domestic and international markets.
