Here’s Good News for Students: All Play, No Work in First Week

As schools across valley are scheduled to reopen on March 1 after a long winter break, the Directorate of School Education has announced that the first week will be celebrated in schools in a student-friendly manner.

While announcing this, Director Education, Dr Shah Faesal said that the first week will be utilized in a different way. “Stress will be laid on the establishment of Student-Teacher relationship,” he said.

In the first week, counselling sessions for the students will be conducted. The students will be taken to meet the elders of their locality to gain experience.

Besides, the director said, the winter task will be revived.

“We will talk to students how did they spend winters. We will make 2016 a year full of Academic activities,” Dr Faesal said.

“It is not sufficient to compensate only in working days,” he said, “so, winter tutorials will be now done as evening classes.”(KL)
