Share

ANANTNAG: To ensure transparency and accountability in the categorization of NFSA ration lists, the Deputy Commissioner Anantnag, Muneer ul Islam, has asked people of the district to verify their ration lists and approach the concerned officers to report  any discrepancy.

The Deputy Commissioner said that ration lists as per the provisions of recently implemented NFSA have been made available at sale deposits in every part of the district.

He said that ration distribution under NFSA has been started in the district this month and so far 15000 quintals of ration has been distributed among the consumers.

He said people seeking any correction in name, family strength or categorization can approach Tehsildars of their respective jurisdiction. While directing storekeepers to not make any correction at their own level, he said people should approach Tehsildar, TSO or AD CA&PD if any storekeeper alters any ration list or category.

As per the provisions of NFSA, there are three categories namely AAY, in which ration will be given to families at the scale of 35 Kgs per month at Rs 2 per Kg for rice, in the Priority Household Category (PHH), people will get 5 Kgs of rice per soul per month at Rs 3 per Kg and under the Non Priority House Hold (NPHH) category, rice will be available at Rs 10 per Kg.
