Share

Poonch: The abandoned ‘Dhokas’ of Gujjar community gutted in mysterious fire in Arai hamlet of Poonch district on Wednesday night.

Reports said that these dhokas belonged to Gujjar Community who being nomads had abandoned them time being. On Thursday number of Gujjars visited the spot and demanded thorough investigation into the incident. “How can 14 dhokas catch fire when there is no human population around? We want an impartial probe into the incident,” a member of the community said.

SSP Poonch Jogindar Singh said they have started investigation into the incident. He added that fire could have been doused in time but it takes more than four hours to reach the spot. “We have registered a formal case and investigation has been taken up,” Singh said.
