NFSA implementation reviewed in Kulgam

KULGAM :  Additional District Development Commissioner, Kulgam, today convened a meeting to review the implementation of NFSA in the district. 

The ADC urged people to not pay heed to the rumors spread about the Act and said that under the Act, ration on subsidized rates will be provided to 4.22 lakh souls under categories like Priority Households and Non Priority Households, on basis of census 2011 instead to 3.85 lakh souls that were provided before the implementation of NFSA. He further said 30,000 additional households will be issued ration cards in the district adding that under the Priority Households, 256811 souls will be provided ration on subsidized rates as against 152545 souls prior to the implementation of the Act. 

The ADC took stock of the preparations made by the Revenue, CAPD and other allied departments regarding the registration process of the eligible families falling in different categories of the Act.  He stressed upon the officers to work in unison so that proper registration of the families is achieved and required alterations are completed well before time. 

The ADC asked the concerned officers for ensuring checklists of the beneficiaries under priority category, non-priority category, APL and exclusion so that the ration is provided in a hassle free and transparent manner.He further stressed upon the concerned officers to complete the linking of Aaadhaar with the ration distribution cards so that direct benefit transfer to the consumer is achieved and pilferage of subsidy amount is checked.

The meeting was attended by ACR, AD CAPD, besides media persons and prominent citizens of the district.
