IPPI 2nd round arrangements reviewed at Bla

BARAMULLA: To review the preparedness of Intensified Pulse Polio Immunization (IPPI) Round-2 campaign in the district, a meeting of District Task Force (DTF) under the chairmanship of District Development Commissioner, Yasha Mudgal was today held at Baramulla. The meeting was attended by, Chief Medical Officer, Chief Education Officer and other Officers.

A thorough discussion took place regarding the anti polio drive to be held on February 21. The meeting took stock of the arrangements that have been put in place for the successful Campaign in the district.  It was given out under the Round-1 of IPPI programme, all the children below the age of 5 years of the district were covered on January 17th.

The meeting was further informed that 154190 children will be immunized across the district under 2nd round of the Pulse Polio Immunization Program for which  845 Vaccination Booths have been set up in all 10 blocks of the district. 1690 teams consisting of 3380 members including 1591 Health workers, 986 ASHA workers, 758 ICDS workers and 45 teachers will be deployed across the district. Besides, Supervisors have also been deployed throughout the district.

It was also informed that Panchayat institutions will be involved for the purpose and banners and announcements regarding the pulse polio campaign will be utilised for the success of the drive.

While stressing upon the officers for efficient coordination and cooperation, the DDC mentioned the fact that the effective Pulse Polio programme should be carried in the district and all children under 5 years of age should be covered under the programme.
