DDC Anantnag reviews phy, Fin Achievements

ANANTNAG:The District Development Commissioner Anantnag, Muneer ul Islam today chaired an officers meeting to review the physical and financial achievements of various departments here today.

The DDC said that under the district plan for the year 2015-16, out of an approved budget of Rs 186.14 crore, Rs 93.12 crore have been made available in the district out of which an amount of Rs 68.58 crore (74%) have been utilized for various developmental projects in the district.

He said that the Urban Development Department has completed 47 works in the district, thereby utilizing an amount of Rs 57 lakh out of the available 62 lakh.    

Under the ICDS, the meeting was informed that from an approved budget of Rs 926.54 lakh,    Rs 694.9 lakh has been made available in the district, out of which Rs 281.5 lakh has been already utilized. Similarly, in the Laadli Beti scheme, DPO informed that 2000 cases have been already finalized and approved in the district. While as in the ASRA scheme, 1176 cases have been cleared in the first phase and an amount of Rs 1.75 has been disbursed. Similarly in the second phase 2000 cases under ASRA shall be taken up. In the State Marriage Assistance Programme, 500 cases have been approved so far in the district.

The DDC insisted upon the District Project officers to finalize the cases of beneficiaries under Laadli Beti on priority basis so that funds are released to them without any delay.

The DDC also instructed the Executive Engineer PDD to ensure regular power supply to every areas of the district as per the schedule so that people do not suffer in these winter months.

The Deputy Commissioner directed the engineers of I&FC department to expedite the removal of slit from the river on war footing so that carrying capacity of the river is increased and chances of recurrence of 2014 like floods are minimized.

Taking a strong note of the delay in the removal of encroachments alongside the Jhelum and other water bodies of the district, the DDC directed the officers of I&FC and Revenue departments to launch an anti-encroachment in a first in the identified areas and remove trees and illegal encroachments alongside the river banks. He also directed the concerned officers to put a check on the illegal sand mafia operating in environmentally fragile areas like Moonghaal and Lidder.
