Dir Agriculture kick starts sale of Hybrid vegetable seedlings

SRINAGAR: Agriculture Department organized sale of hybrid and open pollinated variety of seedlings of Cabbage, Knolkhol, and Cauliflower at Kitchen Garden Lalmandi here today. The sale witnessed tremendous enthusiasm of people and heavy rush, not only from Srinagar but also from far flung areas of the valley.

 On this occasion, Director Agriculture Kashmir said that keeping in view the huge economic potential of vegetable production the famers and unemployed youths should practice vegetable farming in their fields which is a remunerative and profitable venture and assured full cooperation and technical guidance from the department.

The Director appraised the gathering that in view of remunerative nature of vegetable farming, the department is making every endeavour for area expansion under vegetables and reduce the slack season.  Chief Technical Officer of the department and Seed Production Officer were also present on this occasion.
