Photojournalist Shahriyar wins ‘National Photography’ Competition

SRINAGAR: A budding photojournalist from valley Syed Shahriyar has bagged first position in “National Photography” competition held under the theme “Capture Your City” by Tangerine, a designer brand for Home Solutions in India.

“It is a moment of joy to be listed among the photojournalists of repute,” Shahriyar told Kashmir Life.

Syed Shahriyar who is currently pursing MA in Mass Communication and Journalism from MERC, University of Kashmir had won accolades for his work in worst ever deluge of Kashmir in 2014.

Shahriyar’s work has earlier been published and won accolades internationally, as well.

Along with Shahriyar, two other Kashmiri photojournalist: Umar Mehraj and Hussain Altaf have won the contest.

The organizers had received entries from all over India.
