Khulna—Zimbabwe left-arm fast bowler Brian Vitori has been reported for bowling with a suspected action following the third Twenty20 International against Bangladesh in Khulna.

The match official’s report handed to the Zimbabwe team management contained the concerns over the legality of Vitori’s bowling action.

In a media release, the International Cricket Council (ICC) stated that the 25-year-old will have to undergo testing within 14 days and will be allowed to bowl in international matches till the reports are made available.

“Zimbabwe’s left-arm fast bowler Brian Vitori has been reported with a suspect bowling action during the third Twenty20 International (T20I) against Bangladesh, which his side won by 31 runs in Khulna on Wednesday,” said the ICC release.

“Vitori’s bowling action will now be scrutinised further under the ICC process relating to suspected illegal bowling actions reported in Tests, ODIs and T20Is.

“He is required to undergo testing within 14 days, and, during this period, Vitori is permitted to continue bowling in international cricket until the results of the testing are known.”

The ICC also announced that Netherlands’ fast bowler Ahsan Malik has been allowed to bowl after his remodelled bowling action cleared the official assessment.

Malik was reported in July 2015 during the ICC World T20 Qualifier and underwent remedial work to correct his bowling action to stay within the allowed 15 degrees of elbow extension.
