Police fail to trace polio rumour monger

SRINAGAR: Police in Kashmir have failed to trace the rumour monger who uploaded the pictures and posted the false news regarding the pulse polio immunizations deaths though over a two-dozen people have been called in for questioning.

“Some 30 to 40 people have been called in for questioning though no formal arrests have been made. FIR against the unknown people have, however, been registered in various police stations,” IG Kashmir, Javed Mustafa Geelani, told Kashmir Observer.

Police has also claimed they have arrested one rumour monger identified as Parvaiz Ahmad Sheikh resident of Chattlam, Pampore, a local online portal quoted a senior police official as having said.

The claim has, however, not been verified officially.
