Farmer’s awareness camp held

KATHUA: A farmers awareness camp was organized by the Department of Horticulture at Garniari in Block Barnoti here today.

Horticulture Development Officer, Barnoti, Sandeep Gupta while interacting with the farmers/fruit growers briefed them in detail about the various schemes/programmes of the Department presently under implementation in the area and impressed upon them to take maximum benefit by availing incentives available under various centrally sponsored schemes. He laid stress on the establishment of Vermicompost units in their Orchards as the Vermicompost is very useful for maintaining soil fertility and is very important for producing quality fruits and maintaining soil health for which the Department of Horticulture is providing financial assistance also.
