JK promotes state’s tourism potential at national Travel and Trade Fair

BENGALURU: Minister for Tourism & Industry, Government of Karnataka, R. V. Desh Pandey, today inaugurated Travel and Trade Fair (TTF) being held at Elaan Convention Centre, J P Nagar Bengaluru from 15th to 17th January, 2016.

Nearly, 15 representatives from travel trade and hotel associations from Jammu, Ladakh and Kashmir have installed stalls related to their respective fields in the fair which fascinated the visitors from different states of the country. The objective of the event is to provide an opportunity and a proper platform to the people of trade and travel industry to promote their destinations by offering several lucrative special packages. This also helps the participants to share their expertise and experience in the field with their counterparts from different parts of the country to learn latest techniques and tools to further boost their business.

The officers delegation from Jammu and Kashmir state was comprised of CEO, Dodapathri Tourism Development Authority, Mr. Zahoor Ahmed Mir, CEO, Surinsar-Mansar Tourism Development Authority, Mr. Vikas Gupta, Deputy Director Publicity Tourism, Jammu, Er. S. K. Atri and Manager JKTDC, Mr. Sanjay Kumar.

The delegation highlighted the tourism products being offered by J&K tourism department especially leisure, adventure and eco-tourism.

The visitors evinced keen interest and curiosity in the stalls put up by our state and were informed by the officers about various attractive tourist destinations having great historic and cultural value like Doodhpathri, Sanasar, Mansar which offer huge potential for adventure and eco-tourism.

On the occasion, written literature on different tourist spots and special packages and incentives being offered by different agencies  was distributed among the visitors.

Later, the Minister along with other dignitaries visited the J&K stalls and interacted with the delegation. He appreciated the efforts of Jammu and Kashmir Tourism department for exhibiting their products in a total professional and efficient manner.
