IGP Kashmir visits Winter Camps

SRINAGAR: Inspector General of Police Kashmir S.J.M Gillani along with SSP Srinagar Amit Kumar today visited a couple of winter camps organized by J&K Police in Srinagar city. 

At Sonwar camp the IGP addressed the participants of the camp. 

During his address the IGP highlighted the aims and objectives of this youth engagement programme and said that these camps are being organized simultaneously across Srinagar by the police with an objective to provide platform to the youth to showcase their hidden talents and to provide an opportunity to them to polish these talents further. 

He said that around 1500 youth from different areas of the city between the age group of 12-20 years are participating in these camps. The IGP said that these camps are being held in the jurisdictions of all the police station and the concerned SHOs have been designated as coordinators. He emphasized upon the participants to make best use of this opportunity. 

The training at these camps are being imparted by professionals by implying different techniques and brainstorming games. These camps have been organized with a view to promote sports culture and also to provide the youth awareness about the traffic rules, banking, fire safety, besides holistic development of the positive attitudes of the youth. These camps are first of its kind in the winters and the youth have shown tremendous interests not only in playing guitars and singing Kashmiri songs but also in developing new mobile application softwares.
