NEW DELHI: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) today identified certain phone numbers from SP Salwinder Singh’s call data records.
According to sources, these numbers are related to drug smugglers. However, Salwinder Singh has denied the allegations. The Gurdaspur SP claimed them to be police informers. But sources say – Salwinder Singh was helping smugglers to give them safe passage for drug supply.
However, sources in the National Investigation Agency (NIA) say that investigators have so far not found any direct link between Gurdaspur SP Salvinder Singh and the militants who attacked Pathankot air base on January 2.
While the agency is not willing to give a clean chit to Salwinder just yet, sources said that during their investigation they have not uncovered any evidence which would suggest that Salwinder had advance information about the militant attack at Pathankot.
